Raymond A. Lawson, 84, of Marine, IL, born June 26, 1932 in Dupo, IL, died Monday, Sept. 19, 2016, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Highland, IL.

Raymond served his country from 1953 to 1955 in the United States Army as a Radio Operator and an Operating Engineer. He was employed by McDonnell Douglas and later retired from Boeing. He was an ace pilot at the Grantfork Municipal Remote Control Airport. Raymond was an avid Train enthusiast with over 700 feet of G-gauge train in his yard and H, O and N gauge track and displays in his home. He volunteered with K-10 Model Train, a headquarters for model trains, radio controlled model airplanes, cars and many other hobbies. Rose Marie and Raymond were crafters and for many years enjoyed making and selling their crafts. He enjoyed his Mattie dog, but most of all he enjoyed the time he was able to spend watching his grandkids playing sports, their football games and track meets.
