BRENT JASON CARTER Brent Jason Carter was granted his angel wings on September 12, 2016, following a lifelong illness. He was born May 8, 1970 and spent his final days surrounded by friends and family that Brent had touched in some small way throughout his very memorable life. Brent's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quality of time in which one lives. His gentle smile could melt the hearts of those around him and though he never spoke a word, his voice and thoughts could always be heard. Although Brent's illness made him appear frail, he possessed strength, perseverance, courage and an ability to overcome incredible odds and physical challenges. With his courage he led us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. He could spend hours rocking in his favorite chair while being close to those he loved so much. He enjoyed music, vanilla wafers, long warm baths and being with his mother and best friend. With Brent's passing we remind others that his life is one to be celebrated. Although we will miss him every day, especially his winning smile. He will forever remain in our hearts. Through his teachings about life, we were able to create wonderful memories and it has been our privilege and blessing to be his parents. Brent leaves behind many wonderful caregivers that provided love and support that enhanced his quality of life. Brent's love extends to the many nurses and doctors at the Oroville Hospital Medical Center. There is a special place in our hearts for Brent's friend Dr. Roy Shannon, because of his continual dedication, love and support, Brent was able to survive some of his toughest medical challenges. Brent will also be missed by all his friends at the Wilburn house in Redding, CA. Thanks also to the wonderful people at Far Northern Regional Center that provided care, help and love for Brent. Brent is survived by his parents, Alan and Linda Rogers of Oroville, CA., Brother Christopher Carter of Oroville, CA., Sister Kimberly Aitken and brother Brian Rogers both of San Diego, CA., Nephews Christian and Austin Carter and Ross and Timothy Rogers; Great-Nephews Ryland and Landon Carter. There are also many loving Aunts, Uncles and Cousin that Brent loved and cared for. Calling hours are to be held on Thursday, September 22, 2016 from 9 to 10 AM at Scheer Memorial Chapel, 2410 Foothill Blvd., Oroville, CA.
