Rebecca E. “Becky” Black, 66, of Charles Town, loving wife, mother, sister, friend and homemaker, died Monday, Sept. 19, 2016, at her residence under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle and Sammy Carper Kable. Born Dec. 13, 1949, in Charles Town, she was the daughter of Thomas C. “Tommy” Ennis and Iris Lenore (Johnson) Ennis.
Mrs. Black retired from the Bank of Charles Town as a loan processor. She was a member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church. Becky graduated from Charles Town High School, class of 1967; and Shepherd College, class of 1971. She is survived by her husband of 45 1/2 years, Charlie S. Black, at home; daughter, Lauren S. Black, of Ranson; son, Andrew C. Black, of Charles Town; sister, Sandra L. “Sandy" Johnson and husband, Chuck, of Charles Town; brother-in-law, George “Butch” Dearing, of Inwood; and one niece and two nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Nancy L. Dearing. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23, 2016, at St. Thomas Lutheran Church, Charles Town, with Pastor Diane Day officiating. Interment will be at Edge Hill Cemetery, Charles Town. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home.
