BERNARD, John Albert Paul - 63, 176 Munroe Ave., New Glasgow, passed away Friday, September 19, 2003, in Aberdeen Hospital. Born in Summerside, P.E.I., he was a son of the late Jerome and Sarah (Cameron) Bernard. He was a School Bus driver for the Chignecto-Central Regional School Board for the past 14 years and was a former transport driver with Pole Star and Cook's. He was a seller at the flea market each week. He was an avid card player and a former member of the Abercrombie Community Centre. He is survived by his wife, the former Erna Miller; daughters, Gail Rogers and Sarah, both of Barrie, Ont.; son, Kevin, at home; stepson, Lawrence "Mark" Miller, Truro; grandchildren, Charlene, and Cassandra Rogers, Ryan and Tyler Bernard; sister, Irene Wessels, Scarborough Ont.; brothers, Edward "Sonny" (Julia), Digby; Alex "Do" Dartmouth; Wallace, Bridgewater; Eugene "Andy" (Brenda), Scarborough, Ont. He was predeceased by his first wife, the former Effie Lottie "Sis" MacDonald; sister, Mary Diane Munro; one stepsister and four stepbrothers. Visitation today from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday 2-4, 7-9 p.m. in R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service 11 a.m. Monday in Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Father Bill Burke officiating. Burial in Abercrombie Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care.
