Stillwater - Former longtime Duncan resident BEVERLY ANN RHOADES DARE, 76, of Stillwater, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006, in Stillwater.
Graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday in Resthaven Memorial Gardens with Barbara Jantz and Carl Slifer officiating. Interment will be under direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home.
Beverly was born Jan. 1, 1930, in Oklahoma City, to Ralph H. and Zelda Meyer Rhoades. She graduated from high school in Newton, Kan., and went on to attend Stephens College in Columbia, Mo. She graduated from the University of Kansas, and was a 50-year member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority.
Beverly married Gene T. Dare on Jun 16, 1951, and moved to Duncan, where she assisted in the operation of Abbie's, Inc. until 1995. She moved to Stillwater in January 2005 to live near her family.
Beverly earned her American Contract Bridge League Life Master Certificate in 1993. She enjoyed duplicate bridge, crossword puzzles, reading mysteries, and her beloved Collie dogs.
Beverly was a member of First Christian Church.
Survivors include her mother, Zelda M. Rhoades of Duncan; a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Ken Patrick of Stillwater; two grandsons and their wives, Jennifer and Kory Patrick of Stafford, Va., and Stevie and Damen Patrick of Frisco, Texas; and a beautiful Golden Retriever great-granddog named Mollie.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1988, and her father.
