THIS IS NOT A DUPLICATE RECORD. There is also a tombstone in Saint Peters Cemetery, Juniata County, for Randolph and his wife Mazie with their dates of birth and death. This is curious since Randolph cannot be buried both places. In researching this, here is what I was able to find out from Orchard Hills Cemetery and from the Seebold Funeral Home who handled the services. Randolph's parents owned four burial plots together in Orchard Hills. His brother Lynn was killed in WWII in 1944 and buried in one of the plots in 1948 when his body was brought home. His parents both died in 1959 and were buried there as well. In 1996 after his wife died, Randolph's sister Reba turned the remaining plot over to Randolph. Three years later when he died, Randolph was cremated at Pomfret Manor Cemetery in Sunbury, PA, just across the river from Orchard Hills Cemetery. His ashes/urn were buried in the fourth plot in Orchard Hills Cem. Why he is not buried with his wife I do not know. Why his name and date are on the tombstone with his wife Mazie I also do not know. Here is what I speculate. That Randolph and his wife had purchased a stone in Saint Peters Cemetery, Juniata County and both names were inscribed. Mazie died in 1986 and was buried in St. Peters. Randolph spent his last two years at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village (assisted living/Nursing Home)in Lewisburg, PA. He died and for whatever reason was buried in his plot in Orchard Hills next to his parents. Some relative had his date of death inscribed on the stone in St. Peters he shared with his wife. Don't know, just speculation, but Randolph's remains are in Orchard Hills Cemetery, Shamokin Dam, Snyder County, PA. So the record of him in St. Peters Cem. does not reflect his actual burial place.
Randolph and Mazie Alice (Fogel)Cornelius were married June 10, 1944 in Pottsgrove, PA. Mazie was previously married to a (____) Cornelius. They divorced Dec 8, 1943. Through that marriage Mazie had a stepson, Marshall Cornelius.
