GORDON - Cody Ross Swain, 18, died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Kurt Powell officiating. Burial will be in New Gordon Cemetery by Edwards Funeral Home of Strawn.

Cody was born Aug. 10, 1988, in Amarillo to Joey Swain and Deborah Brackeen. Cody graduated from Gordon High School in 2006, and during his years in school he was very active in football, baseball, FFA and One Act Play, and he showed cattle with 4-H at the stock shows. Cody was currently enrolled at Cisco Junior College, where he played football this fall. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Gordon, and loved working in the church nursery.

Survivors include his mother and stepdad, Debbie and Andrew Alanis of Borger; his Dad, Joey Swain of Santo; his paternal grandmother, Doris Rushing of Walker, La.; three brothers, John Leven of Palestine, James Leven of Anchorage, Alaska, and Casey Swain of Gordon; two stepbrothers, Andrew and Anthony Alanis, both of Fritch; three aunts, Becky Giddens of Walker, La., Rosemary Maddox of Wichita, Kan., and Juanita Turman of Ocean Side, Calif.; an uncle, Daniel Brackeen of Grand Prairie; a nephew, Mark Leven; a niece, Larke Leven; numerous cousins; and extended family.

Cody's senior class and Tamber Dixon will be honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
