BROWN, Katharine Rhodes September 7, 1920 - December 15, 2014 Katharine Rhodes Brown was the widow of Bloss Anderson Brown. She was born to the late Gussie Worley Rhodes and William Luther Rhodes in Loris, South Carolina and moved to Estil, S.C. when she was five. Katharine was Valedictorian of her High School class and attended Agnes Scott College for three years and graduated from the University of South Carolina where she was in the Alpha Delta Pi sorority. She was married in 1941 and she and her husband Bloss lived in Atlanta all of their lives. The Browns attended Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church where they were very active members and Katharine was a devoted member of the Fidelis Sunday School Class. She modeled for Rich's Department Store, taught piano lessons and was involved in the cultural affairs of the city, with a special interest in music and art. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Catherine Brown Rosenau and her husband, Dr. Doug Rosenau, one granddaughter, Merrill Rosenau, and one great granddaughter, Caitlyn Rhodes Sorensen. She has one living brother, Dr. Jack Rhodes and sister-in-law, Dorothy McLeod Rhodes, of Charleston, South Carolina and three deceased brothers, Judge William L. Rhodes Jr, Ray Worley Rhodes, and Howard Paul Rhodes. A memorial service will be held at Campbell-Stone Buckhead (2911 Pharr Court South NW, Atlanta, GA 30305) in the Chapel on Tuesday December 30th at 2:00 P.M.
