A Memorial Service will be celebrated Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 11:00 am at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette for Jack Edward Burke, 70, who passed away Friday, September 16, 2016 peacefully at his home in Lafayette.
Visitation will be observed on Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 9:00 am until the time of services, at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette.
Interment will follow in Fountain Memorial Cemetery in Lafayette.
Mr. William Tibbles, brother-in-law, will officiate.
Jack was born April 22, 1946 in Freer, TX and was a long-time resident of Acadiana. He graduated from high school in Calallen, TX in 1964. Jack spent four and half years in the United States Airforce. He returned home and began working for Dowell in 1969. After retiring from Schlumberger in 1998, he continued to work offshore and drove for Taylor Trucking until 2014.
Jack is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Sandra Burke of Lafayette; his sister, Joyce Lewis and her husband, Frank of Weslaco, TX; two daughters, Dawn Soileau and her husband, Jamie of Lafayette and Laura Fischer and her husband, James of College Station, TX; one son, Sonny Koenig of Orange Grove, TX; four grandchildren, Kyle and Olivia Viguerie of Lafayette and Zachary James and Emily Fischer of College Station, TX and seven nieces and nephews. We miss you already, rest in peace.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ted Adam Burke in 1972; his mother, Clara Mae Oglesby Burke in 1994 and his brother, Ted Adam Burke, II in 1999.
