Cdr. Bartholomew M. "Bart" Pacofsky /Pearson was born March 20, 1928 in Latrobe West, Pennsylvania, the son of Albert W Pacofsky and Anna C Hricik. He died Jan 29, 2004 age 75 in New London, CT a resident of Groton, CT. A US Navy veteran, he served from July 1957 to Aug 1975. His father was born in Czechoslovakia. Bart changed his surname to Pearson before he died.

His wife, Winifred Ann (nee Foley) was born Jan 24, 1917 in Fall River, Mass., the daughter of Francis J Foley and Sarah A Short. She died Dec 6, 2002 age 85 in New London, CT.

Bart joined the Navy at age 17 and was the altar boy at Mass on Sundays aboard the ship "USS Orion (AS-18)". He was promoted to 1st class at age 20 and to Chief in six years! He was always a gentleman, extremely knowledgeable, kind and helpful. He was a Disbursing Clerk, one of the “Disbursing Office Gang" and did the work of two men during busy times.
