Mrs. Wilma Wilson Ellis, age 77, of Waycross, died Saturday evening (9/17/16) at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross following a short illness.
Born April 8, 1939 in Mulberry, FL, she was a daughter of the late David Edward and Elizabeth Mae Fox Wilson. She lived for many years in Tampa, FL but had lived in Waycross for the past 25 years. She was a housewife and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Beverly; 2 sisters, Opal Wilson and Anette Wilson; and 2 brothers, Donald Lee Wilson and David Wilson.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Kenneth Ellis of Waycross; 2 daughters, Donna Halterman (husband Tracy) of Blackshear and Karen Moshier (husband Dean) of Dearborn Heights, Michigan; 1 son, Kenny Ellis, Jr. (wife Kristine) of Blackshear; 11 grandchildren, Shane Beverly of Waycross, Amanda Hood (fiancé Phillip Morris) of Waycross, Shawna Ellis of Virginia, Michelle Halterman of Blackshear, Daniel Halterman (wife Alyssa) of Waycross, Angela, Ashlee, and Adam Campbell, all of Michigan, Kimberly Loughran (husband John) of St. Petersburg, FL, Ricky Welker of Wooster, Ohio, and Adam Welker of St. Petersburg, FL; 13 great grandchildren; a brother, Franklin Wilson of Douglas; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
The family will have a time of visitation on Thursday (9/22/16) at the funeral home from 6-8 PM.
Memorialization will be by cremation.
