J. Ralph Mackall, 97, retired steelworker
East Liverpool -- J. Ralph Mackall, 97, of the East Liverpool Convalescent Center died at 8:20 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 1991, at City Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born in Hookstown March 2, 1894, a son of the late Charles Mackall and Ella Reed Mackall. Mr. Mackall resided his lifetime in the Tri-State Area, and was employed 40 years at the former Crucible Steel Co. before retiring in 1963. He was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church and its Men's Fellowship Class, Riddle Masonic Lodge 315, the Order of Eastern Star, and was a 32nd degree member of the Scottish Rite. His wife, Jenny M. Mackall, died Sept. 5, 1976, and a son, Charles L. Mackall, died in 1980. Survivors include two sons, Ralph B. Mackall and Hugh S. Mackall of East Liverpool; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. The Rev. Dr. H. Gene Toot of the church is to conduct services a 1: 30 p.m. Wednesday at the Dawson Funeral Home. Burial is to be in Mill Creek Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Masonic services are planned at 7:30.
