Mrs. Shirley Bingham age 73 of Scalf, KY departed this life on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 in the Barbourville Hospital. She was the widow of Alonzo "buddy boy" Bingham and the daughter of Bentley and Sylvia (Baker) Hobbs and was raised by her grandmother, Ada Baker. She was born in Knox Co. on September 7, 1943.
She believed in the Baptist faith and had been a nurse's aide at the Barbourville Hospital. She enjoyed four wheeling, yard sales, watching the deer that came to her yard and watching wrestling.
She is preceded in death by her husband Alonzo Bingham and her parents, Bentley and Sylvia Hobbs, one sister, Lola Hobbs along with her grandparents.
Left behind to mourn her passing, four children, Ricky Bingham and wife Penny of Bimble, Jenny Bingham of Barbourville, Billy Joe Bingham and wife Tammy of Walker and Chuck Bingham and wife Rachel of Scalf, two sisters, Doris Brown of Scalf and Betty Meade and husband David of Tennessee, four brothers, Dempsey "poncho" Hobbs and wife Gladys, Don Hobbs and wife Maryann, Jerry Hobbs and wife Margaret and Archie "Junior" Hobbs all of Scalf,

Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley Bingham will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 1:00 p.m .with Rev. Randy Clark and Rev. Stoney Brown officiating. Pallbearers will be, Sammie Carnes, Dustin Carnes, Junior Mills, Scotty Elliott, Roger Bingham and Brandon Bingham. Honorary pallbearers will be, Barbourville ARH staff with special thanks to the ICU unit, Dr. James West, Rodney Smith of Daniel Boone Clinic and Escoe's Market. Mrs. Bingham will be laid to rest in the Eli Carnes Cemetery. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
