Ocie Ellen Puckett, 94, of Hillsville, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2002, in Beverly Healthcare Blue Ridge. She is survived by two daughters and son in law, Reva and Foy Hawks of Laurel Fork, Va, Iva Lee Walton of Of Hampton, Va; one son and daughter in law Leslie A and Becky Puckett of Newport News, Va; One brother Foy Marshall of Laurel Fork, Va; three sisters, Cordelia Vaughan of Hillsville, Va, Christine Rakes of Laurel Fork, Va, and Aileen Wiggins of Ridgeway, Va; eight grandchildren Dr Brenda Hawks-Mayer, Neda Baxter, Judy Hawks Saul, Janet Schy, Pat Walston, Bobbi Albright, Ronnie Puckett and Kevin Puckett; nine great grandchildren Jackie Fromal, Julia Hojje, Rachel Baxter, Josh Hojje, Katie Walston, Hayden Mayer, Hannah Mayer, Lindsay Albright, and Abigail Puckett; one great great grandchild Bailey Hojje. Funeral was Wednesday May 15, 2002 at 2PM in Rome Missionary Baptist Church conducted by th Rev Joe Parks, Rev Ben Simmons, Elder Leonard Vass and the Rev John D Bowman. Burial followed in the Rome Cemetery. The family received friends from 7 - 9 PM Tuesday at Rome Missionary Baptist Church.
