She was born in Richmond County on August 30, 1930 to the late Neal Chavis and Laura Ezzell Chavis. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her Husband‘s Norman C. Smith and Herman Deaton and one Grandchild Franklin Smith. Mrs. Deaton worked as a Spinning Operator for a textile Mfg.
She is survived by sons Norman Lewis “Smitty” Smith and wife Diana of Sanford, Ray Smith and wife Mary of Sanford. Daughter Brenda Love and Companion Johnny Howington of Olivia. Ten Grandchildren and Eleven Great Grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 20, 2016 from 6:00 PM to8:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be Wednesday September 21 at 3:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Oldham and Lee Hinsley. Burial will be at Shallow Well Cemetery.
