Henry Bruce Freeman, Jr., 72 of Greenville, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Kindred Hospital of Dallas. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, March 11, 2016 at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in D/FW National Cemetery at 2:15 P.M. Visitation will be Thursday, March 10, 2016 from 6:00 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Mr. Freeman was born in Tampa, Florida on September 24, 1943 to Henry B. Freeman & Virginia Walden. He married Peggy Matye on August 10, 1973 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church.

He moved to Dallas as a young boy & he joined the Army at the age of 17. He retired from the Army as a Master Sergeant & was a Vietnam Veteran. While in the Army he earned a degree in Business Management & after retirement he went to work for Environmental Services & was the Director of Housekeeping for several Hospitals, of which Hunt County Hospital was his first account. He also worked Industrial accounts to include Lockheed Martin Aeronautics & Reunion Arena. Reunion Arena closed & he went to work for American Airlines Center & was instrumental in the opening of it for which his name is on the top girder of the building. He finished his career with Environmental Services at Baylor Hospital.

He then became active with the local Veterans organizations of which he was a life member of the VFW-Post 4011, life member of the DAV-Post 81 & a member of the AL-Post 17. He worked at getting started the Hunt County Honor Guard which he was so proud of & felt a great honor to provide for his fellow Veterans.

He was a great father, loving husband & will be truly missed.
He is survived by his wife Peggy Freeman of Greenville, sons Henry Bruce Freeman, III & wife Sharon of Sherman, Gary Scott Freeman of Texarkana & Michael Alan Freeman & wife Charmayne of Plano. Grandsons Zachary M. Freeman & Tristyn S. Freeman. Brother James Hugh Freeman & wife Carolyn of Royse City, sister Melody B. Robinson & husband Randy of Palestine, Sister-n-law Patsy Freeman, Brother-n-law Fred Jaffin, Aunt, Florence Varhaug, numerous nieces, nephews & cousins.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, brother Robert Freeman & sister Darlean Jaffin.

Pallbearers will be James Freeman, Bruce Freeman, Scott Freeman, Michael Freeman, Randolph Robinson & Matt Varhaug.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Hunt County Honor Guard, c/o 404 Jasmine Circle, Nevada, TX 75173.
