David Gow was Born in Scotland to David Gow and Grace Hay Graham. They came to the United States arriving in New York in 1840 and moving on to Allegheny County PA. According to the death certificate, he was retired (formerly a shoemaker) and was residing at 828 Reedsdale St. in Pittsburgh with his sister Grace Gow, who passed away two years later in 1924. Although the date of his birth is unknown, he was well up in years, probably in his 90's and not 80 as his sister reported on the death certificate. She was younger than him and her death certificate 2 years later states she was "about 88" years old.
