FRENCHVILLE - Former Brogue resident Earl E. • "Tommy" Flaharty, 81, of Frenchville died at 8:45 a.m. Friday, March 8, 1996, at Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
Born Oct. 19, 1914, in Brogue, he was a son of the late William and Alice (Boyd) Flaharty.
Mr. Flaharty was a retired farmer and had worked for the state Department of Transportation in Chanceford Township, York County, for six years.
He was a member of Guinston United Presbyterian Church, Brogue, and a former trustee of the church.
Mr. Flaharty is survived by two sons, Larry E. Flaharty of Frenchville and Gary L. Flaharty of Brogue, five grandchildren and a great- grandson.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Flaharty was preceded in death by his wife, the former Mary Jane Baldwin.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Burg Funeral Home, 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion, with the Rev. John R. Maisch officiating.
Interment will be in the Guinston United Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Brogue.
Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Sunday and from 1-2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 2997 Cape Horn Road, Red Lion, PA 17356.
