SLAYDEN—John Walter. Ape 74, of London Court, Old Saybrook, Conn, died Saturday, Novemeber 10, 1979. He was born in Waverly, Tenn, August 10, 1905. He attended US Naval Academy, Class of 1927, served in the Nicaraguan Campaign. He was a retired executive of the NY Telephone Co, retiring in 1969. He Is survived by 2 sons, John C. Slayden of Gladstone, NJ and James C. Slayden of San Francisco, Cal; a stepson Robert Powers of Rochester, NY; daughter Anne Slayden of NYC; a stepdaughter Mrs Patricia Eden, Bloomfield, Conn. Also survived by 3 brothers, 3 sisters and 10 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 11AM at Grace Episcopal Church, Old Saybrook, Conn. Burial services Mount Hope Cemetery, Hastings On Hudson, NY, Wednesday 2:30PM.
