A 1963 graduate of Academy High School she worked in marketing for FMC Measurement Solutions for over 30 years, retiring in 2006 and previously worked for Grants and Security Peoples Bank. Karen was a longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandsons, watching General Hospital, and doing seek and find puzzles.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Debra Leigh Hines.
Survivors include a son, William Hines, Jr. and fiancee Mary Steen of Lawrence Park; a daughter with whom she resided, Tammy Steadman and husband Michael of Erie; a brother, Howard "Butch" Mantsch and wife Bernice of Erie; two sisters, Shirley Englert of Erie and Marilyn Hannah and husband Alexander of North East; three grandsons; and many additional family members and friends.
Burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
