SALTVILLE, Va. Justin D. Barnes Sr., Saltville, known to his family and friends as "Rusty", died Thursday, September 15, 2016, after a long and courageous battle with multiple health problems. Rusty was born on December 9, 1945, in Smyth County to the late Lawrence and Bessie Smith Barnes. As a teen, he moved to Maryland, where he worked in construction mainly repairing and remodeling homes for real estate companies. Rusty loved to play his guitar and autoharp, and was an avid fan of the Redskins and NASCAR. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Justin Barns Jr. and a brother, Mark Barnes. He is survived by his long-time companion and caregiver, Laura Hensley of the home; his son, Larry Barnes, Hyattsville, Md.; daughter, Joyce and husband, Johnny Boling, Waldorf, Md.; stepdaughters, Drema Hensley, Seven Mile Ford, Darla Bullard, North Beach, Md., and Donna Eckert, Lothian, Md.; and stepson, Danny Hensley, Lothian, Md.; two brothers, Orville Lee Barnes, Fredericksburg, Va., and David Barnes, Marion. He is also survived by granddaughters, Jackie Boling, Katie Rubio, Lauren Bruno, Jennifer Stanley; grandsons, John Boling, Scotty Region, J.D. Hannabass, Justin Hannabass, and Darrell Hensley; four great grandkids, Camille, Trey, Alaina, and Danny; and his ex wife, Jill Kidwell. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, September 18, 2016, from the Bradley's Funeral Home Chapel in Marion with Pastor David Mumpower officiating. Interment will follow in the Ridgedale Cemetery in Rich Valley. The family will receive friends from 1 till 3 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
