Carrie was a homemaker, a wonderful Mother and Grandmother who adored her Grandchildren. She loved to crochet and shared her talents making Afgans for her family members. She enjoyed gardening and was a great cook.
She leaves behind three daughters, Norma Hatterer of Red Lion, Mary Smith and husband, Milton of York and Freda Sands and husband, Robert of Mt. Wolf. Nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her son, Don E. Hamilton in 2005; two grandsons, Steven L. Smith in 1994 and Jeffrey L. Hatterer in 2015; and twelve siblings.
Viewing will be on Monday, September 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, September 20, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A Service of Honor and Praise for Carrie will begin at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with her great grandson, the Rev. Christopher E. Hamilton, pastor of First Baptist Church in Lansdale officiating. Burial will be in Freysville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to: York Cancer Center, Cancer Patient Help Fund, York Health Foundation, 50 North Duke Street, Second Floor, York, PA 17401.
