Irma, many addressed her by her middle name, Barbara, peacefully passed away after a massive stroke on the morning of July 25, 2016 at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House, 2201 Euclid Avenue, Hughson, California. She was 95. She was born in Princeton, Michigan to Lucy Brighenti Parlato and Angelo Parlato. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and two time cancer survivor.
She graduated from St. Paul's High School in Negaunee, Michigan. She and her husband, Valmore, son, David and daughter, Pat moved to Modesto, California from Ishpeming, Michigan in 1952. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church.
She was preceded by her loving husband, Valmore Johnson; and son, David Johnson; sisters, Mary Baldini, Olga Powers, Josephine Parlato; and two brothers, Alfred Parlato and Geno Parlato.
She is survived by her daughter, Pat Bergstresser of Alexandria, Virginia; daughter-in-law, Theresa Johnson of Rocklin, California; grandchildren, Christopher/Kimberly Bergstresser of Switzerland, Scott Bergstresser of Brentwood, California, Robert/Deina Johnson of Granite Bay, California and Suzanne Johnson/Brett Reed of Gardnerville, Nevada; great grandchildren, Isabella Bergstresser of Switzerland, Kayla, Emma and Ryan Bergstresser of Brentwood, and Maxwell and Delaney Johnson of Granite Bay.
Funeral plans include a memorial mass at Our Lady of Fatima Church on August 27, 2016 at 10:00am. A mass of Intentions will be said for both Barbara and Val Johnson close to their wedding anniversary in September.
"Barbara" will be interred, with her husband, Val, at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella, California.
