Herbert L. Sims, 60, of Lodi, died Dec 7 in a local hospital after a long illness. He was born Oct. 17, 1940, in French Camp.
Mr. Sims was raised in Lockeford. He attended Oak View Elementary and graduated from Lodi High School in 1958. He married Betty Geiszler on April 22, 1961 in Carson City, Nev. The couple resided in Lodi.
He was employed with Supermold in Lodi for 14 years. He later worked for Blackwelders in Rio Vista for five years. He was employed with Carando Machine Works in Stockton for the past 21 years. He enjoyed gold panning and old classic cars, especially Cadillacs.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Sims of Lodi; two sons; parents Acel "Ace" and Julia Sims of Lockeford; brother, Dennis Sims of Woodbridge; and two grandchildren.
