Keith Dawson Holland, 57, of Franklin, passed away Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006.

A native of Macon County, he was the son of the late George Nathaniel Holland and Mary Melvina Barnes Holland. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Janette Peek and Jackie Kisselburg; and four brothers, Ray, Elden, Louie and Glenn Holland.

Keith was a member of Buck Creek Baptist Church; a member of the N.R.A.; an avid outdoorsman and a racing fan. He was actively involved with his grandson and was looking forward to the birth of his second grandchild.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Linda Ervin Holland; a daughter, Melissa Holland Melton and husband, John David of Franklin; two sisters, Ann Green of Brevard and Mary Cason of Skyland; one brother, Jerry Holland of Arden; one grandson, Dawson C. Holland; 19 nieces and 10 nephews.

A funeral service was held Monday, Dec. 11, at 2 p.m., in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home, with Revs. Carson Gibson and Roy Lowe officiating.


Burial was in the Buck Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jamie Halyburton, Teddy Neely, Billy Angel, Brandon Peek, Dewayne Ervin, Scotty Stanley, Willy Cason, Travis Hedden and Billy Huscusson.
