Ella Elvada Collins, 87 of El Centro, California passed to her heavenly home on September 11, 2016 after a lengthy illness with Alzheimer’s. She was born June 30, 1929 in Younger Bend, Oklahoma to Ezzell and Rebecca Thompson. As a young girl she attended school in a one room school house in Younger Bend, Oklahoma were in the 8th grade she was valedictorian of her school. The family went on moving several times before settling in El Centro, California. She graduated from Central Union High School in 1948.
On June 17, 1947 she married Guy Junior Collins together they raised 2 daughters and 2 sons who she loved dearly. Elvada ran a successful business for 30 years called Collins Tax Service, Elvada loved traveling Internationally spent many vacations in Mexico and Canada she had dual citizenship being a American 1st and Canadian 2nd.
She is preceded in death by her husband Guy Junior Collins from El Centro, California and son Dennis Lee Collins from El Centro, California, her parents Ezzell & Rebecca Thompson of Porum Oklahoma, Sister & Brother-In-Law George & Doris Riley of Porter, Oklahoma and Sister-In-Law Leona Thompson of Portor, Oklahoma.
Elvada is survived by one brother: Eual Thompson and her children son George Edward & wife Karen of El Cajon, California, daughter Shirley O’Bryant of Yuma, Arizona and daughter Sharon Bucher and her husband Neill Bucher of Harrisburg, Oregon Grandchildren: Sheala Walton, Michael O’Bryant, Steven O’Bryant, Russell Collins, Cary-Lynn Collins Estes, Tiffany Bucher, Matthew Bucher, Great Grand Children: Andrew Vela, Brittany Araujo, Shannon Collins & one Great-Great Grandson Mason Vela and many nieces and nephews.
She will be greatly missed and remain in our hearts forever.
