Jesse Simmons, Jr., 89, of Westport died Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Ida R. (Pineault) Simmons. A veteran of World War II, he served his country in the United States Navy. He was a member of the VFW Ouelette Post 8502, Westport. Mr. Simmons was a Communicant of St. George Church, Westport.
Including his wife, survivors include two sons: Jesse Simmons III of Westport and Gerald Proulx of Westport; a daughter: Patricia Tavares and her husband Larry of Westport; a sister: Eva Boback of Westport; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was brother of the late John Simmons, James Simmons, Joseph Simmons, Lillian Balek and Rose Sherry.
