Otto was born in Blenheim Twp; in 1885 to parents Reinhold Schedler (1862-1897) and Emilie Hanebohn (1861-1938).

Whe he reached the age of 19 years, Otto married a 30 year old widow named "Mena" Wilfong-Seibel. They got married in Waterloo County on October 19, 1904. Marriage Register #018694.

She gave him 2 sons to raise.
1. Elmer Roy Schedler 1905-1979.
2. Edward Charles Schedler 1907-1921.
