Elizabeth P. (Quay) Simon, wife of the late John F. Simon, also known as the original Simon the Plowman, of Spring City, PA went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 in Peter Becker Community, Harleysville. Born in Spring City, PA, she was a daughter of the late Clarence E. Sr. and Flossie (Walters) Quay.

Mrs. Simon was a graduate of Spring City High School. She was the oldest member of Parker Ford Church, where she was in the choir, and served in the past as the President of the Women’s Fellowship and as a Deaconess. She also previously served as the President of the Auxiliary of the Ridge Fire Company. Mrs. Simon enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and gardening, and operated Bette’s Produce Stand for over 50 years. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved spending time with her family and will be sadly missed. She left a lasting legacy of memories in the hearts of everyone she knew. As we all have her in our hearts, God now has Bette in his loving care.

Mrs. Simon was the beloved mother to four children, Judith S., wife of Edward Molnar of Harleysville, PA, David L., husband of Liz Simon of Spring City, PA, Evelyn J., wife of Tom Tursack of Pottstown, PA, and Louise E. Simon of Birdsboro, PA; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, and one nephew, Jeff, husband of Lynn Quay. Mrs. Simon was preceded in death by one brother, Clarence E. Quay Jr., and one great-grandson, Logan Aaron Simon.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at the Parker Ford Church, 20 Rinehart Road, Pottstown, PA 19465 on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at 3 p.m. Officiating will be David R. Willauer, retired administrative pastor of Parker Ford Church. Burial will be held privately. Friends will be received from 2 – 3 p.m. Sunday at Parker Ford Church. Arrangements are being handled by the Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home, Royersford, Pennsylvania.
