Singer, Actress. A big-band singer of the 1930s and 1940s, she was a lead vocalist for the Benny Goodman Orchestra and is best known for the song "And the Angels Sing". She made her movie debut in the 1937 film "Sing While You're Able" and had memorable performances in other movies such as "Sunny" (1941), "Swing Hostess" (1944), "Crime, Inc." (1945) and "The Benny Goodman Story" (1955). Her other notable songs include "I'll Walk Alone", "A Stranger in Town", and "I Should Care". Tilton also sang with other bands including Jimmy Dorsey and Artie Shaw. Her sister Liz Tilton was also a big-band singer.
