Dave Davis, age 84, originally from Austin, Texas and a current resident of Destin, Florida, passed away peacefully at his home with family by his side on September 10, 2016.
Dave was born in Dallas, Texas on April 2, 1932 and graduated from Saint Edward’s University in Austin, Texas on December 20, 1980 with a Bachelor of Liberal Studies Degree with an emphasis in Theatre. Dave’s career was vast as he was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps and retired from the United States Air Force. In addition, Dave had careers doing what interested him most ranging from swimming instructor and lifeguard, retail and direct sales, entrepreneur and business owner to private investigator and movie and stage actor. Dave enjoyed many things but especially painting, sculpting, reading, collecting antiques, telling stories and relaxing with his beloved dog, Sugar.
Dave is survived by his daughter, Teri Davis McClain of Marietta, Georgia and grandson, Michael McClain of Brooklyn, New York, son, Clif Jenness and his wife Molly Jenness of Dallas, Texas, daughter-in-law, Shannon Davis and grandson, Wesley Davis, both of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, son Scott Davis and his wife Kate and grandchildren, Taylor, Anna and William of Geneseo, Illinois.
Dave is preceded in death by his wife, Amy Jenness Davis of Dallas, Texas and son, Bill Davis of Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
A Memorial Service will be held for Dave at a later date at the Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Florida. As a tribute to Dave, please make any monetary donations, in his name, to Emerald Coast Hospice at 200 Grand Boulevard Suite 205A, Miramar Beach, Florida 32550.
