Robert W. 'Bob' Arrowood, 83, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2016 in Garland, Texas. Bob was born in Bowie, Texas to Roy and Elsie Arrowood on September 2, 1933. He married the love of his life, Nancy, in Wichita Falls, Texas in 1956 and they recently celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary. Bob and Nancy have two sons, Dan and wife Vickie of Rowlett, Texas and Robert of Boston, Massachusetts. He has two grand-daughters, Katie Mork and husband Justin Mork of Garland, Texas and Lauren Rice and husband Sean Rice of Virginia Beach, Virginia. His great-grandsons were Tanner Mork and Emmett Rice. Bob had three brothers, Bill (deceased) Don (deceased) Glenn; and a sister Patricia. Following graduating from high school in Pryor, Oklahoma, Bob joined the Air Force and served his country as a Staff Sergeant during the Korean War. He worked 39 years for Texas Instruments as an electronics designer. After retiring in 1996, he started a second career with Polatomic, where he specialized in computer modeling until his final retirement in 2014 at 80 years old. He was involved in the design of numerous defense projects, including the Minuteman missile and the F-111 Forward-looking infrared radar (FLIR) system. Bob has been a member of First Baptist Church in Garland, Texas since 1958. He loved to go to church and cherished the many friendships he had there. Visitation was on Sunday September 18, 2016 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, Rowlett, Texas. Services were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 19, 2016, at the First Baptist Church Garland, Garland, Texas, with Dr. Greg Ammons officiating. Burial followed at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Rowlett, Texas. Arrangements were through Rest Haven Funeral Home, Rowlett.
