Mr. Nathaniel Moore, 83, of 149 Miramar Court, Santee, peacefully entered eternal rest on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at The Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg, SC. Nathaniel Moore was born on September 29, 1932 in Elloree, south Carolina to the late Eliza Moore and Thomas ‘Jeff’ Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and two daughters: Vanessa Moore Palmer and Mary Lou Moore.

He was joined in holy matrimony to Lucille Stokes Moore on May 20, 1956. At an early age he joined the Granger Baptist Church where he remained a member until death. Nathaniel was a retired farmer. His little blue tractor was a familiar sight in the Providence Community where he spent many years growing collard greens, butter beans, watermelons, sugar cane and other produce.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters: Sandra Moore (Karl Smith) and Catherine Martinez of Orangeburg, South Carolina and Tina Blanding of Santee, South Carolina; his sons: Orlando Moore, Jermaine Jefferson and Malik Moore of Santee, South Carolina and Melvin (Juanita) Moore of Orangeburg, South Carolina; his sisters: Annie Bell Hanton of Cleveland, Ohio; Geneva Bookhart of Santee, South Carolina; Vivian Stewart of Elloree, South Carolina and Barbara (Gilbert) Williams of Norwalk Connecticut; his brothers: Andrew (Flossie) Williams and Charles Williams of Norwalk, Connecticut; four sisters-in-law: Susan (MacArthur) Adams of Mattapan, Massachusetts; Pearlie Mae Stokes and Janie Brown of Orangeburg, South Carolina and Minnie King of Santee, South Carolina; 14 grandchildren; 3 of them reared in the home: Warren Moore and Michael Moore of Santee, South Carolina and Jasmine Williams of Macon, Georgia; 14 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other special relatives and friends.

Friends may call at the residence, 149 Miramar Court, Santee or at Simmons Funeral Home of Santee. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016 from 1 to 8 PM at Simmons Funeral Home of Santee. Funeral services will be held 2 PM on Sunday, September 18, 2016 Granger Baptist Church, 280 Carriage Hill Road, Elloree with Reverend Edward Prince officiating. Mr. Moore will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Simmons Funeral Home of Santee assisted the family.
