Janice Ann Morehead Lueb Greene, age 63, died in her Midwest City home after a long battle with several forms of cancer. Born February 28, 1953, she was the middle child of Earl and Joyce Morehead. A graduate of Carl Albert High School, she earned a B.S. in accounting from the University of Central Oklahoma and soon afterwards, passed the challenging exam to become a Certified Public Accountant. Along the way, she met and fell in love with Gordon Greene. They dated for two years before becoming a family that included her sons, Eric and Jason Lueb, and Gordon’s son Shannon. After working as a bursar for a local hospital, Jan opened her own Midwest City office under the name Jan Greene, CPA. She provided tax and accounting services in an atmosphere so comfortable that many clients would share all sorts of unrelated personal problems with her. And many brought their children, knowing that Jan would let them play with toys from a large selection she kept nearby for that purpose. Despite her business acumen and the satisfactions of her work, Jan’s greatest joys were her family – her sons and grandchildren Benjamin and Emily Lueb of Midwest City; and Jack, Alec, Nick and Paul Greene of Howell, Michigan. Her office was a second home to local grandkids Ben and Emily and their friends; they could always find snacks in her office kitchen where they and all their friends called her “GrandJan”.
Jan led an active life, frequently attending lectures, concerts, and theatre. She read widely. She enjoyed international travel and visited some of the world’s great art museums. She served as treasurer and president of her church and did volunteer work as a Court Appointed Special Advocate representing underprivileged youth in OKC. She enjoyed the friendship of many. Hers was indeed an accomplished, loving, and well-lived life.
She is survived by her husband, sons Eric of Midwest City, Jason of Port St. Lucie, FL, Shannon of Michigan, their children and grandchildren; two sisters, Judy Morehead Jennings Gregory of Norman, and Nancy Morehead Corbit Derusha of Choctaw and their families; and a host of cousins, nephews and nieces.
Services will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. at First Unitarian Church, 600 N.W. 13 St., OKC. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the American Cancer Society.
