Glen E. Bell, 81, died early Wednesday morning at Rush Copley Medical

Center after a prolonged illness. He was born November 19, 1925 in Geneva, IL and was a lifelong resident of the Fox

Valley Area. He was a member of Oswegoland Optimistic Club and was voted optimist of the year in 1993. He served in

Merchant Marine in World War II in the Pacific until the end of the war. He married his wife of 56 years, Elizabeth Louise Myers on July 1, 1950; they went on to have 3 children, Glen Eugene Bell, Sharon (Richard) Schindlbeck, and Kathryn (Jeff) Nix. He had nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Elna Bell; and his son, Glen Eugene Bell.

Glen worked for Walbrun Paint in downtown Aurora before opening his own interior design store, Country Charm

Decorating Center in Yorkville. He retired in 1988.

A memorial visitation will be held from 10am until the time of service at 11 am on Saturday, December 2nd at Dierterle

Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL 60538. Interment Private.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Lung Association 3000 Kelly Lane Springfield, IL 62707.
