Frances Knight, the daughter of Charles and Eva (Malaise) Wilcox, was born April 19, 1921, in Elmore, Minnesota. She graduated from Renwick High School in 1939. On February 3, 1940, Frances was united in marriage to Kenneth K. Knight at the Presbyterian Church Parsonage in Goldfield. After marriage, they made their home on the old Shirk farm for a year before moving to the Kelling farm for a year. They also lived on the Axon and Bartzen farms, moving to Goldfield to retire in the winter of 1982.

Frances was a member of United Presbyterian Church, United Presbyterian Women Evergreen Association, Square Dance Club, Sewing Club, Card Club. She enjoyed china painting, ceramics and cake decorating - she made all three children's wedding cakes. Frances's love of cooking, feeding her family and being a wonderful farm wife led to a cook book dedicated to her on her 80th birthday.

Frances passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Rotary Senior Living at the age of 96 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth in July of 2000; sisters, Hildred and Rose; brothers, Alden, Raymond and Edward and sisters-in-law, Irene and Evelyn. Survivors include her three children: Sandra (Tom) Stevenson of Goldfield, Janice (Al) Rodriguez of Belmond and Dennis (Glenda) Knight of Humboldt; 7 grandchildren: Todd Stevenson (Lisa) of Dubuque, Paul Stevenson (Kris) of Clear Lake, Lori Kasel (Benji) of LeMars, Rochelle Triggs (Don) of North Liberty, Kristin Randall (Steve) of North Liberty, DeAnna Kelly (Steve)of Britt, Kendall Knight (April) of Goldfield; 19 great grandchildren: Nathan (Heidi), Nicholas (Rachel), Zachary, Jacob, Noah, A.J., Kenna, Teagen, Kendra, Kaelyn, Karsten, Dane, Trey, Cole, Kennedy, Creighton, Hayden, Hadley and Anthony; sister-in-law, Mildred Knight; brother-in-law, Eugene Lewis and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 25, 2018, at United Presbyterian Church in Goldfield with Pastor Sara Sutter officiating. Visitation is Wednesday, January 24, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Goldfield. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Goldfield. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
