He departed this life on the morning of August 7, 2016 at The Laurels of University Park 2420 Pemberton Road, Henrico, Virginia.
At a very early age, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and became a member of
Quioccasin Baptist Church in Henrico, Virginia.
He attended Henrico County Public Schols and attended Douglas Freeman High School where he was a star football player who was admired by many. Dwight received the Small Business Management Degree from the Elizabeth Grant School in Staunton, Virginia. He also received a Radio/ Television Repairman Degree from the Commonwealth of Virginia. Dwight was employed with Comcast as a contractor. He retired as an electrician.
In his earlier years, he enjoyed trips with his parents and siblings to his grandparent's home. Dwight enjoyed fishing, horseback riding, sports and having fun with family and friends. He was very close to his brother Stewart and encouraged him to play football where he too became a very competitive player admired by all.
He had a mind of his own and was tough and determined. His smile in laughter was contagious. Dwight was very playful and loved to joke.
Dwight was a giver, kind-hearted and often gave gifts of love to family and friends. He loved inviting others over as he tossed steaks on the grill.
Dwight was a proud and private man. He was loved and will truly be missed.
Dwight leaves to cherish his memories his devoted mother, Lucy Cordell Wells; brothers Clifford L. Wells (Nicole), and Stewart Wells (Kendell); sister, Juanita Wells (Bruce), Priscilla Wells-Gist, and
Kathleen Jackson (Reverend James Jackson); Paternal uncle, Henry Wells (Elaine), host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends, including special friends Nanette Ellerbe, Nita Hollinger, and Arthur Byrd, Jr.
