Mrs. Sophie Ruth Carter, age 59, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2004, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. Born at Crockett, Texas, on January 24, 1944, she was the daughter of Theresa O'Dell (Roberson) Revel and the late John Desmond Revel. Sophie was a homemaker and mother, and she had been a resident of Heber Springs for seventeen years. She was a Christian. She is survived by her husband, Raymond D. Carter of Heber Springs, AR, one son, Raymond Desmond Carter of Memphis, Tennessee, two daughters, MaJunta Bulovic and Wylie Brewer, both of Heber Springs, AR, her mother, O'Dell Revel of Tumbling Shoals, AR, three stepdaughters, two sisters, Linda Permenter of Geneva, Florida, and Theresa Jane Burkett of Tumbling Shoals, AR, four grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren. Sophie is also survived by other relatives and her many friends.
