Jaime David Smith, age 36 of Fairmont, MN and formerly of New Richmond, WI, died on Sunday, August 16, 2015 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Jaime was born on December 29, 1978 in Eau Claire, WI. He grew up in New Richmond, WI, graduating from New Richmond High School with the class of 1997. After high school he joined the Army National Guard. Jaime received certifications in Carpentry through Century College in White Bear Lake, MN. Jaime took interest in alternative fuels, and worked in St. James, MN for BioFuel as a Process Technician. Jaime also received certification in Information Technologies and Computer Repair. Jaime was presently working for Green Biologics Ltd. In Emmetsburg, Iowa as the assistant plant manager, with opportunity for advancement.

He attended Bethel Evangelical Church in Fairmont, and remained a life-long member of First Baptist Church in New Richmond. Jaime loved all sports, especially baseball, hockey and golf. He enjoyed traveling, fishing and the outdoors. He loved animals and training dogs. He was starting a secondary business with a close friend to breed and train double registered (American Kennel Club and United Club) puppies. He was a strong, confident man, generous, and loving.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Delbert and Arvilla Smith and George and Esther Obermueller; and sister-in-law, Heather Smith. Jaime is survived by his fianc, Bobbi Jo Ogren; daughter, JayLynn Rae Smith and soon to be born baby girl; step daughters, Breanna, Jasmine, and Kiera; parents, David and Karen Smith; siblings, Kyle Smith and Kaylani Rae Smith; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Due to distance two Memorial Services will be held. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, August 23, at 4 p.m. at First Baptist Church in New Richmond, WI. Visitation will precede the service Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at the church. The other Memorial Service will be held at Bethel Evangelical Church in Fairmont, MN Wednesday, August 26th at 5:30 p.m.. Visitation will precede the service from 3-5p.m. Private interment will at a later date. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services Beebe Chapel of New Richmond.
