Artist - Credited with introducing Impressionism to the United States with a show in Boston in 1890. His works remain in a number of American museums. In 1887 Breck traveled to Giverny, France, home of the impressionist painter, Claude Monet, whose style Breck later adopted and brought to the United States. There is a portrait of Breck painted by his friend, James Carroll Beckwith, on display at the National Gallery of Art, in Washington, D.C.
