KARTHMAN, MARY VIRGINIA, was born March 11, 1927 and passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2006. The family of the beloved Mary Virginia Karthman announces her passing. She was born in Louisville of Mary Bridget and Leroy Y. Squires and lived here her whole life. She was a member of the large and prolific Fahey family. She attended Holy Cross grade school and Shawnee High School. She worked at Tube Turns until her marriage to Joseph D. Karthman. They were married for 57 years. She was mother to six children: Joe Jr., Kathy, LeRoy, Karen, Bridget and Barbara; and grandmother to nine grandchildren. She loved her family, playing bingo and watching game shows. She will be greatly missed. Your prayers for her and her family are sincerely appreciated. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at Highlands, with cremation to follow. Viewing will be from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, December 11, 2006 and from 2-8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at the Highlands Funeral Home at Taylorsville Rd. Donations can be made in her name to Hospice and Palliative Care of Louisville, located at 315 East Broadway, Louisville, KY 40202.
