Mrs Ann Matilda Long, age 87 years and one of the oldest residence of College Hill, passed away at 8 o'clock this morning after an illness of nearly five years with heart trouble. She died at 3007 College Avenue, where she had made her home for the past 32 years. Her husband, Josias Long, died at the family home of heart trouble, when 88 years of age, four years ago.
Mrs Ann Matilda Rayl Long was born in South Beaver township and was married to Josias Long on April 6, 1854. The resided on the farm until 32 years ago, when they moved to their present home on College Avenue.
Mrs Long is survived by three children, John B. Long of 2909 Fifth Avenue, College Hill; Miss Linnie J Long of 3007 College Avenue and Mrs Olive B. Heltman of Altoona, Pa. There are also two surviving brothers, J. B. Rayl of 2429 Seventh Avenue and Dr. W. F. Rayl of 522 Seventh Avenue. There are also, 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the family home Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock and Reverend Alexander Savage, the pastor of the Darlington Reformed Presbyterian Church, of which the deceased was a member for 70 years, will be in charge. Interment will be private in Grandview Cemetery.
