page 5 column 2 (bottom of page) BRIEF LOCALS

Mrs. Amamda THAYER passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Anton RAUSCH, last Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, at the advanced age of 77 years. The deceased was born in Ohio on Sept. 27, 1836, and grew to womanhood in that state, where she married Wm. THAYER, and came to Minnesota in the pioneer days, settling on a farm near Cleveland. Since the death of her husband in 1901, Mrs. THAYER made her home with her daughter in this city. She is survived by three sons, Lyman, George and William of Anacortes, Wash., and one daughter, Mrs. A. RAUSCH of this city. The funeral services were held last Friday afternoon and were conducted by Rev. S. Ellery of the M. E. church. The remains were laid to rest in the Scotch Lake cemetery, where her husband is buried.

Please Note: Scotch Lake Cemetery is actually the Meeker Cemetery located on the East shore of Scotch Lake, thus the reference to Scotch Lake Cemetery. The M. E. Church was the Methodist church of St. Peter which burned down in 1923 never to rebuild.
