Bernice C. Dapp, 92, of Williamsport, passed away, Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016, at the Williamsport Home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. Dapp.
Born Feb. 3, 1924, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Anna (Dost) Knerr.
Bernice retired from Textron Lycoming in 1989 and West Branch Valley Federal Credit Union in 2012 as an accounting clerk.
She was a lifelong member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church where she was formerly very active and served as a Sunday school teacher. Bernice was also formerly active in the PTA and bowled on a league at Faxon Bowling lanes. She was a talented artist ,mainly in watercolor painting and was proud to be the illustrator of the Williamsport High School yearbook. Bernice had a love for animals, birds and would adopt cats without a home. Most of all Bernice, was the life of the party and loved to smile. She cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren and extended family.
Surviving are her four children, Jeffrey M. Dapp (Brenda), of Muncy, Gary H. Dapp (Bonnie), of Williamsport, Susan K. Bowen, of Williamsport, and Patricia R. Chadderdon (DeWitt), of Cogan Station; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a infant son, Terry Dapp; a brother, Fred Knerr; and a sister, Marion Confer.
Burial: Wildwood Cemetery.
