Javier Flores Pina, 55, of Austin, formerly of Crosbyton passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2016. He was born on January 15, 1961 in Crosbyton, Texas to Rafael H. and Juanita (Flores) Pina. Javier grew up in Crosbyton and attended Crosbyton schools, and later attended South Plains College. He was a surgical technician at Cedar Park Medical Center in Austin and was very active in marathons and triathlons, as well as being very active in political circles. Javier had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to play jokes on people.

He was preceded in death his parents; and two sisters; Nelda Pina and Noemi Pina Martinez.

Those left to cherish his memory are his very good friend; Barry Joseph Hoelscher of Austin; two sisters; Norma Rangel and Nora P. Gonzales both of Lubbock; five nieces and nephews; Dina Almaraz; Adam Almaraz; Divian Gonzales; Adriana Evi Gonzales; Eli Rafael Martinez; and five great-nieces and nephews; Aseneth Montez; Celeste Castillo; Arturo Tino Valdez; Matthew Lee Almaraz; and Gabriel Almaraz.

Funeral services will be held 10 am Friday, September 16, at First Baptist Church in Crosbyton, with Estevan Flores officiating. Burial will follow in Crosbyton Cemetery under the care of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton. A service to honor Javier’s memory will be held from 7pm-8pm on Thursday, September 15, at Adams Funeral Home in Crosbyton.
