"After a gradual decline in health for the past five years, Foster Barner, well known Cobleskill dairy farmer, passed peacefully away at his home at the Barner farm south of Cobleskill on Tuesday afternoon at four o'clock. Mr. Barner was born at Mineral Springs on April 23rd, 1865, the son of Chester Barner and Nancy C. Borst Barner. When about four years of age, with his parents he moved to the Barner farm where he has always resided with the exception of a few years' residence on South Grand street in this village. He was a successful farmer. For some time he conducted a milk route and was one of the first producers of certified milk in this territory. He was united in marriage to Miss Lillian Jennings on March 27th, 1889. Mr. and Mrs. Barner celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1939. Mr. Barner is survived by his widow, two sons, Chester and Frank Barner, one grandson, Donald Barner, and two nephews, Arthur and Leslie Empie. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2:00 p. m., at the Bundy funeral home, Rev. C. Walter Kessler officiating. [The Cobleskill Index (Cobleskill, NY), Jan. 15, 1942, Page 6]

"Funeral services for the late Foster Barner were held at the Bundy funeral home on Friday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, Rev. C. Walter Kessler officiating. There were an abundance of beautiful flowers. The bearers were Walter G. Mosher, Leroy Rockefeller, Harold T. Smith and Milton Borst.
