Raymond was born in Paterson, NJ and lived in Pequannock, NJ and Manasquan, NJ before moving back to Paterson. He served in the United States Army. He was a former parishioner of St. James R.C. Church in Totowa, NJ, St. Denis R.C. Church in Manasquan and St. Brendan's R.C. Church in Clifton, NJ and was the former president of the Pequannock Board of Education for 8 years. He was a Funeral Director for 37 years and after he retired he became the co-owner of Metro Candy Apple in Clifton, NJ for 15 years and sold the business in 2014.

Beloved husband of the late Janice McCoy (nee Martello). Devoted father of Martin of Paterson, Gregory of Cold Spring, NY, Michael of Warwick, NY, James of Ventura, CA and Thomas of Manasquan, NJ. Dear brother of Joseph McCoy, Mary Ann McCoy and the late Jane Roemer. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren.
