He was born December 24, 1925, in Russell Springs,the son of Roscoe and Zona Elizabeth Wade Wilson. He married Ruth Ann Herrington on June 8, 1952, in Bloomington, Illinois. She survives.
Also surviving are six children, Julie Swope, Bruce Allan (Cyndi) Wilson, Laurie (Scott) Herlickman, Brian (Sue) Wilson, Megan (Paul) Thimming and Stephen Wilson, one brother, John Wilson, six grandchildren and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.
He was a member of the First United Church of Gridley, the Gridley Community Club, and the Gridley American Legion Post 218. He was also a volunteer at the Spare and Share.
He was employed as a switchman for General Telephone Co and retired in 1990.
Mr. Wilson was a World War II Navy veteran serving in the South Pacific. He was a graduate of Chenoa High School and the General Telephone Accelerated Education courses.
