It is with deep regrets and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our father, due to a massive heart attack that took him from us in an instant. Our only peace comes from knowing the pure happiness he experienced that night when Ellie came to get him and walk with him through the gates of heaven.
Alan Scott Wright, lovingly know as Dirtbag, was born November 3rd, 1951 to Ronald A. and Margie Merrill Wright of Murray Utah. Scott graduated from Murray High School where he excelled and Lettered in several sports. He was a former member and President of the Vikings M.C. and former member of the Barons M.C. He was an avid Harley rider, all around motorcycle maniac and true old school outlaw biker that lived life on his terms.
Scott married his true love Ellie Mae Kennell and together they had two children whom he adored; Lisa Marie (Michael Neilson) and Alan Scott Jr. Ellie preceded him in death following a tragic car accident. He later married Teri Johnson and together they had a son Mason Ronald Wright (Stewart), later divorced. He married Kathleen Openshaw, later divorced. He and his love of over 30 years, Anne Marie Thorpe had a daughter, Sarah Anne (Tanner Duncan), whom he loved very much along with Anne's other children that he loved like his own, Grace "Bo", Maryanne (Tyson Gersbach) and Isaac. He is survived by his children, grandchildren; Kylee, Kaycee, Kolby (Landen), Koleton (Addee), Jordan, Tanner, Trey, Katie, Garrett, Kayzlee, Dax, Livie, Boston, Brody, Beckham, and great grandchildren; Ayden, Jane, Mattix, and Tristan.
Scott went from a big, bad biker to a mild mannered family man in the end. His children and grandchildren were happy to have these past few years with him and will cherish these memories along with others we shared throughout his life. We loved how dad was always so happy to see us. We will always remember him for having the best stories, the most boisterously loud laugh, flame duct tape and "FTW" in marker on anything he could put it on, as well as his "oh boy" reaction to everything. He was preceded in death by his father. They shared an unbreakable bond and he was undeniably his favorite. He could go on forever about his dad with stories and fond memories. He has this same unbreakable bond with Scotty Jr. and just like his father, he loved his son completely, for who he was.
There was a special place in his heart for Fish Lake. His grandfather's cabin was a great source of joy and peace for him for many years. He spent a majority of his life on that lake with his grandpa, dad, friends, children and grandchildren. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He proclaimed he could "die a happy man" after catching a 32 lb. Mack at that lake where they still sell mugs with his picture on it.
A heartfelt thanks to Mark "Stretch" Greenwood, Randy Godfrey, Larry Penman, Don Lane, and Mike "Fanger" Black who were true and loyal friends to the end. Thanks also to Bryan Shama, who recently preceded him in death, and his family for their kindness and generosity over these past months, especially Bayley. Thanks to Dr. Jones, MA Cassie, IMC Liver Clinic, and MA Cathy whom always treated him with respect.
As difficult as he was to live with, he is even more difficult to live without. We love you dad, we hope you know how special you were to us and how much you taught each one of us in your own unique way. Rest in peace away from all the pain and misery.
Scott's wishes were to be cremated and put to rest in his favorite place. We will have a "Party in the Park" to celebrate him on Sunday September 18th, 2016 in Murray Parks Pavilion #5 at 4:00 p.m. Food, drinks, good company and his favorite music to be provided. Come as you are with memories and stories to share.
