She was born on November 7th, 1924 in Winamac, Indiana to Fred and Minnie (Davis) Krohn. Marie married Thad “Ted” Jacobs Sr. on October 19, 1941. They were married for 72 years before he passed away in 2013.
Marie is survived by her son, Thad “Ted” (Janice Vichinsky) Jacobs Jr of Chesterton; grandson, Thad “Ted” (Shari) Jacobs III of Indianapolis, IN; great granddaughters, Rachael and Kara Jacobs who delighted Marie to no end. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Marie Elena Jacobs and her brothers, Tim, Estill and Harold Krohn.
Marie was a very social and kind woman, holding memberships in the Royal Neighbors, the Welcome Wagon, the Women of the Moose, The Optimist Club, and the American Legion. She also greatly enjoyed her bowling league.
Marie will always be remembered for her love for her family, and for being an excellent cook and hostess with her signature recipe being her pot roast, barbecues, and poundcake. She truly thrived when she was making others happy.
Her family would like to thank Miller’s Senior Living in Indianapolis for taking excellent care of and being friends to Marie for the last few years.
